Reasons to be fit

It’s 1am and I’m still procrastinating. This will really be the death of me.

I saw this on Facebook and started laughing while mugging in school with Ivy and Wei Guang. Hehe. Studying… I sometimes feel like I’m reducing my lifespan by doing it, but at the same time, it’s probably good for my brain and hence, it’s probably healthy as well. As long as in moderation, just like food. You should never study your life away!

I thought I’d blog about this wonderful blog I came across.

Reasons To Be Fit – I think it’s really inspiring. I’m thinking of sending in my own “reason to be fit”.

These are a few that I can really relate to:

Because I need to kick ass in the ring.

Because your body is a temple. Take care of it. Health is wealth.

Because I want guys to stare at me when I lift heavier weights than them in the gym.

Endorphins.

This website is really empowering. Gosh… Makes me wanna train so hard!

I had a horrible week with horrible bloating and had two people tell me it looked like I gained weight. Which kinda hurts, especially since I really put in a lot of work to maintaining whatever figure I might have. I’m not naturally skinny. I’ve got “thick” legs from my years of Fencing and Squash and now Muay Thai. I’d prefer to call them strong. I used to look enviously at other girls with their small thighs… Maybe I still do. But most of the time, I’ve come to accept and love my body for the way it is. Why shouldn’t I, right? I think as girls, we just feel so much pressure from all these emaciated images we’ve been bombarded with. It’s just horrible. I like how the women in my photos above look. They look so healthy, so strong, so alive. HEY, they have abs, they have cute butts, they have muscles. They are hot. They inspire me to be a better version of myself. So from today onwards, no more excuses. If it means something to you, you’d do it. If it doesn’t, you’ll come up with an excuse.

I hope I’ve got you thinking.

Love,
Maddie

  1. That is inspiring especially since while studying, exercise is the last thing on our minds! Hahaha that meme is so perfect definitely – procrastination is much easier!
